How To Get A Handle On Social Media

I have been trying for some time now to get myself better organized when it comes to dealing with my Social Media posts.  It gets very confusing when you’re trying to do it all.  In order to keep up with it I created my Social Media List.  The list is created as a spread sheet for the week from Monday to Sunday.  Down the side I put the various social media platforms that I use the most.  I listed Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Blog, Etsy and Snapchat.  Okay, technically Etsy is not a social platform, but in order to keep with what I need to put new files on Etsy (and to keep me working on it more) I added it to the list.

I set up this form so I can use it in my Happy Planner.  It will print in landscape form on an  8 1/2″ x 11″ paper.  So after printing it can be easily cut down.  I cut it down to 7″ x 9.25″ (actually I move it to a notch under 9.25″ to get it to fit better)  Then it can be punched and put in the planner.  Originally, I created this list on Microsoft Word.  If you have the program and want to use it I am including the DocX file.  So you can download it and use it in Microsoft Word and just fill in the form as you want.  Once you download it you can also use the table and resize it if you want to fit other planners etc.  You can download the file by clicking here: Social Media Schedule DL   If you don’t have or don’t want to use Microsoft Word, you can also download a JPG file.  The JPG file can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/2iFo2B3  It will be sized to fit the Happy Planner, but it is still usable as a table.

I have been using this table for about a week now and it has made a big difference in my keeping up with social media.  If you’re a solopreneur like me it may be useful.  Hope it helps you.  Enjoy!

Happy Planner Sidebar Insert

When I set up my Happy Planner for the week, one of the things I do is put the left side page into my printer and add the sidebar print to it.  When I started using the 2015 – 2016 planner it just wasn’t working out for me.  So I changed the page and broke down the divided day to what would work.  If you want to do the same just keep reading.

Want your Happy Planner page to look like this?  You can download this file to print the sidebar on your planner’s left page.  Just be sure and set the page side to 7″ x 9.25″ and insert the page into your printer.  You will need to be sure that the page is set in the center of the printer.  The actual file looks like this:

There are two files so just choose which one will work for you.  I use the Microsoft Word docx document to print mine.  You can download the docx file here: plannerside  But I have also included the jpeg file which may take a little working with to get set properly.  Just right click on the above image and save it to your computer.  Both of these should work with most Happy Planner pages.  You could amend the wording to what you need for your planner.  Happy Planning!

The Happy Planner – Comparing 2015 to 2016

planner3

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted a new blog.  You know how it its.  Things just seem to get the way.  But I have just completed a rather large project or rather it’s slowed down for now.  So here goes.

This blog post is just what the title implies.  I am comparing the 2015-2016 to the 2016-2017 Happy Planners made by Me & My Big Ideas.  I have been using my 2015-2016 eighteen month planner since June of last year.  I use it on a daily basis in order to keep myself somewhat organized.  Even after a year it is still a work in progress.  A video on this comparison is available on my YouTube channel.  Here is the link.  Go and check it out.  I plan to be much more active on that channel and do a video at least once a week on all things creative.  But for a while it will pertain mostly to the use of planners and organizers.

So let’s get into the comparison.  I went to Michaels and was elated to find that they had several of the new planners available.  In comparing the new 18 month planners to the student edition I found that I preferred the later to use for the coming months.  As I said in my video, they have changed the new 18 month planners a little from last year.  They no longer have divisions during the day of morning, afternoon and evening.  So you have more freedom in decorating your planner the way you want.  But my preferences were based in slightly different reasons.  I like the font and set up in the student edition.  It runs from August 2016 to July 2017.  It is based on a normal school year.  It is priced about $10 less than the 18 month planner.  I also prefer the watercolor look of the pages on the weekends.  For me it is just a prettier planner.  So come August I will be moving from my 18 month planner into the student edition.  I will miss my tried and true planner but it’s for the best.

I first purchased the student edition with the ‘Seize The Day’ cover.  But recently I found the cute pink and gold dot cover that says ‘Here’s To A Brilliant Year’.  I fell in love with this planner.  The colors and the fonts are so pretty.  Only problem is on the student edition there are no month tabs.  The dividers are flush with the edge of the planner.  But I have a solution for that.  Coming soon I will have a video showing you the new month dividers that will soon be available in my etsy shop and my solution for putting my new planner together.  As you can see I purchased a new cover for it to give room for the tabs.

So check out the video.  And look for more posts and videos in the future.

Be sure and check out the post entitled Happy Planner 2016-2017 Giveaway.
